Choice Alpaca Products buys AFCNA assets to continue the mission April 17 2017

"Put your money where your mouth is" is a classic phrase which refers to doing something about what you care about, not just talking about it.

put your alpaca money where your mouth is

In 2017 the entire inventory of the Alpaca Fiber Co-op of North America (AFCNA) went up for bid as the long standing organization decided to close its doors. The "Co-op", as we all knew it, was a starting and long burning fire for the American Alpaca products industry, and a key contributor to USA Alpaca in general. It initiated many ideas over the years, advancing public exposure through member involvement, fiber purchases, media, marketing and plain hard work. Countless volunteers gave their heart and energies to the Co-op as a Labor of Love in support of alpaca.

Those of us who supported the activities and goals of the Co-op were sorry to see it go, but as we thank all the contributors we further endeavor to continue the mission with continued advocacy for all things alpaca and continued expansion of American grown alpaca products.

Choice Alpaca Products (www.ChoiceAlpacaProducts.com) has always been inspired to support the American Alpaca Industry since its beginning (2006) and does so in many different ways. In the Spring of 2017 the small family company purchased ALL remaining inventory in numerous categories from the America Fiber Co-op of North American (AFCNA). The bulk purchase of classic lines and materials includes:

  • Alpaca Hiker socks
  • Qtr Alpaca Hiker socks
  • Alpaca Dress Sock socks
  • American grown alpaca processed fiber,
to be spun and knit into their new "American Hunter" socks
  • Pallets of baled "3rds" fiber, destined for alpaca shoe insoles and dryer balls

Choice Alpaca Products has also purchased the right to www.AmericasAlpaca.com itself as it believes in the core mission of the organization of will continue to support the industry in a way that is both profitable for the company and helpful to the industry as a whole.

Choice's FiberCall program is one simple solution to provide a market for small farms who wish to take their "clip" (annual alpaca fiber after shearing) to market.  Choice works with numerous mills in the USA for making alpaca products including:

  • Socks
  • Yarn
  • Hats, Gloves and Scarves
  • Other accessory items
  • Dryer Balls
  • Insoles
  • Blankets/Throws, Rugs and other home decor
